1976

When it all began

OMPI is a family-owned company originally named Officina Meccanica Pinzoni.

From a small shed in the north of Milan, we have grown into an organization with more than 250 employees and several production sites in Italy, Turkey and China.

In 1995 we created AMBI Clutches & Joints Corporation in Frankfort, Illinois, US, which is owned by OMPI. Any AMBI branded product is available at all our retailers.

In order to cope with an ever-expanding international market, we have invested resources in the purchase of increasingly efficient and performing machinery.

Today we manufacture and market 2,500 devices per month

Production

OMPI develops, certifies and distributes press-fit and torque and power adjustment devices worldwide. Our brake/clutch units are designed for presses and drive units, equipped with flywheel and reduction gearbox, and rotary unions for clutches.

Over time, we have evolved from simply producing clutch/brake unions in series to that of double stage planetary gear, OMPIPACK® complete drive, emergency brakes for servo presses, clutches and hydro-pneumatic brakes for forging, caliper brakes, safety locking devices complying with DIN EN 692 standard, etc…

Thanks to our extensive network of dealers in every continent, we can export all over the world.

Research and development

OMPI technical department works with the latest design software and is constantly working on the research and development of new products which meet the needs of an increasingly diversified and international customer base.

The whole process takes place in synergy with the testing department, which tests all new products with various test benches and checks that they comply with the necessary quality standards.

We are proud of our long history and of the know-how we have acquired in many years of work and study.

The OMPI brand will always grow thanks to this constant drive to innovate and develop ever more suitable solutions for a wide variety of industrial applications.
